Introduction

Welcome to the Home Page of Rod Julian Photography, whose passion is landscape photography . On this site you can see examples of the Limited Edition prints currently available. We hope you enjoy and are inspired by these distinctive images.

The Photographer

Rod has practised the art of photography for over 20 years, primarily with landscape photography , but he is also interested in portrait photography and glamour photography . Recently, many film images from his personal image library were transferred onto CD files for preservation. As a result of this exercise, just a few images were selected for Limited Edition Prints. Every person has their own unique perspective, and in Rod's case it is often ‘out-of-the-norm', that is, non-traditional. Rod is inspired by many other talented photographers, in particular Ken Duncan, and the late Peter Jarver.

The Driving Force

Rod believes that in today's world, we are so busy in our daily routines we are driving ourselves further and further from our roots – from our soul connection to The Earth. The pace of life today is stressful, with demands and expectations all around us. For many of us, we tend to live in an artificial environment, inside air conditioned rooms, out of sight of the spectacular natural world over the horizon. In the end, we need to reconnect with nature, to maintain a healthy balance. The best inspiration available, is out there – in nature, and our soul connection to it. The majority of images tend to be of nature, but not in a strictly pure sense, sometimes the interaction between man and nature. Here in Australia , we are blessed with a continent that varies from lush rainforest to dry desert, from rugged coastline cliffs to featureless plains. It is vast, it is intimidating, and it is inspiring.
